No more shisha for the wonderkids…

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has warned our prodigal young duo Jordon Ibe and Raheem Sterling about their off the pitch responsibilities, with the pair snapped smoking shisha earlier in the week, reports BBC Sport.

As per usual, the incident was monstrously over reported and indulged by the national media, but as Rodgers has reminded the youngsters – they must be careful to make the back pages for the right reasons, instead of any kind of controversy.

The pressure on this young duo is enormous, and we’re not going to sit here and judge either, especially as the pair have the ability to star for Liverpool for much of the next decade, but think it’s sensible that the club is taking a firm but fair approach…

Whatever players do in their free time, providing it doesn’t affect their form and fitness, is fine – but they should be careful to not let hangers-on take pictures and videos – which mysteriously find their way into the hands of seedy journalists.
