Philippe Coutinho has been the Reds stand-out performer so far this term, emphasised by his recent PFA Player of the Year nomination. And regardless of trophies or a top four finish, he’s declared that he wants to stay.

Our No. 10 hasn’t done much wrong this season, while surely now he can do no wrong in the eyes of most Liverpool fans. The Kop who surely be relieved to read that the Brazilian won’t be going anywhere this summer, despite reported interest from Manchester City (via the Daily Star).

According to the Daily Mirror, the player didn’t think twice before signing a new deal in February and has his eyes firmly set on helping the Reds achieve as much as possible this season – with an FA Cup semi-final next on the agenda.

He told reporters: “My mind is at Liverpool. I’m a Liverpool player and I don’t think about those things because I’m happy here and want to be here.

“Our aim is always to start the season thinking of winning titles and trophies. The Champions League is not out of reach yet mathematically, there are still possibilities, even though it is not 100 per cent in our hands.

“We’re in the semi-finals of a great competition and will do our best to win the FA Cup – it matters a lot to us as a club.”
