Jordan Henderson has arguably given Brendan Rodgers a huge vote of confidence by signing a new five-year deal at Anfield.
The Northern Irishman had come in for some criticism in the wake of our defeat to Aston Villa in the FA Cup, but the length of the 24-year-old’s new deal arguably highlights his personal confidence in the manager.

Sorting Henderson’s future was arguably right at the top of the list of issues that needed to be resolved as quickly as possible, based on his fantastic performances and escalating levels of leadership – especially given Steven Gerrard will move on during the summer.
To have such an important player commit such a large portion of his career to us is almost like confirming a new transfer, and may inspire a strong end to an ultimately disappointing year.
Now, it would be nice if Raheem Sterling were to follow in his footsteps…
