Twelve Liverpool stars tipped to leave this summer – who would you keep?

Rickie Lambert

Was that goal at Villa as good as it gets for the big man? After waiting his entire career for a fresh opportunity with his boyhood club, it’s been a desperately disappointing season for the England target-man, with just three goals to his name. Unfortunately, he simply doesn’t fit our style of play. You might argue that he hasn’t been given a fair chance but he’s featured 31 times in all competitions. Ultimately, it was a cheap gamble which hasn’t paid off.

Mario Balotelli

Another Rodgers gamble that has fallen short. A lot of Liverpool fans have questioned the Italian’s lack of game-time in recent weeks, but it’s his off the field problems that remain just as big an issue as those he’s having on the pitch. For whatever reason, he’s never been able to keep himself out of the headlines, and it’s a distraction we simply don’t need. While Lambert hasn’t got the legs to fit the system, Balotelli simply goes missing too often.

Fabio Borini

Rodgers could ditch all three of these players this summer – something that would leave us with just an injury-plagued Daniel Sturridge and an inexperienced Divock Origi to play with. This means new forwards are an absolute priority in the summer.
