Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is the sixth richest figure in UK sport, with his overall value estimated to be worth around £42m, a £5m increase on 2014.
According to the latest rankings from the Sunday Times (via BBC Sport), Gerrard is the third richest footballer, ranking behind former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand (£44m) and current Red Devils and Three Lions captain Wayne Rooney, who sits second overall with £72m.
Formula one world champion Lewis Hamilton leads the list with £88m, while his fellow British racing driving Jenson Button ranks third with £63m.
Two-time grand slam tennis champion Andy Murray is fourth, while basketball star Luol Deng, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and Manchester City midfielder Frank Lampard fill the three places directly below Gerrard.
Golfing duo Sir Nick Faldo and Rory McIlroy complete the top ten as part of a four-way tie with Ryan Giggs and Arsene Wenger. The quartet are all believed to be worth an understated £38m.
