Ryan Kent scored twice and Sheyi Ojo added a third as we emerged victorious in the ‘mini-derby’. You can watch the full highlights for the game here, which includes a world class piece of skill from Harry Wilson, by clicking HERE.

Speaking after the match, Liverpool Under 21s boss Michael Beale was full of praise for his team’s ‘complete performance’ at Goodison Park, unsurprisingly singling out Kent for special praise.

In quotes taken by the Liverpool Echo, he also revealed that both Ojo and fellow Wigan loanee Jerome Sinclair will be available for the Reds final three league games, starting with the match against Leicester on Monday.

“Ryan’s had a long time out so we’re really pleased with where he’s at,” Beale explained. “His back’s perfect, that’s his third start. I actually thought he had a better performance last week at Tottenham but tonight he’s got those goals after scoring last week too – so at the moment he’s in a really good place.

“We don’t want to go overboard because I thought Harry Wilson was very good and the two lads who have obviously came back from Wigan were very good as well.”

Kevin Stewart, Lloyd Jones and Jordan Williams are also due back from their respective loan deals and look set to lead the Reds title charge.

Beale added: “After Monday we’ll get the loan players back, Kev Stewart, Lloyd Jones and Jordan Williams. We don’t want the season to end because this is our best moment.

“Both the boys have benefited from the Wigan experience in many different ways speaking to them this afternoon. They’ll go back for a little meeting and to say goodbye.

“Sheyi’s obviously played a little bit more than Jerome but they’ve both taken so much from it. They’ll be available for Monday/Thursday/Monday for us. Jordan Williams is buzzing about the experience he’s having at Notts County and Kev Stewart has been relegated and promoted in the same season in Division 2!”
