The midfielder has been out for three matches after picking up a thigh injury in the build-up to our FA Cup semi-final against Aston Villa. Since losing at Wembley, we’ve only taken one point from two Premier League games, underlining Lucas’s importance to the team.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the 28-year-old completed a full training session on Thursday and is available for selection. Considering our recent run of results and our far superior record with him in the team, it’s hard to see him not being included.

The Echo believe that Alberto Moreno – who was replaced by Glen Johnson for the draw with West Brom and the defeat to Hull – will also return after recovering from a knock, as will captain Steven Gerrard.

There is no word on Mamadou Sakho or Daniel Sturridge, while Jon Flanagan will definitely be out after being forced to undergo another knee surgery. He’ll miss the next six to nine months according to reports.
