Milan have struggled in Serie A this term. They currently sit tenth in the league table and are expected to freshen up their side. Menez is probably their most sellable asset due to his form this term.
Liverpool are among those to have expressed an interest although Menez – the agent, rather than the player – has now confirmed, in quotes taken by the Daily Mirror, that there’s nothing more concrete than that at this stage.
“At the moment, we’re happy with Jeremy at the club,” he said. “The club hasn’t told us anything, so there’s no reason to leave.
“Of course, we know that in modern football every player is for sale, but we haven’t been contacted by anyone and Jeremy feels good at Milan, where he’s had the best season of his career.
“Liverpool and Monaco? These are just rumours, there are rumours around every player. A player who has scored 16 goals will be sought-after, but at the moment there’s nothing concrete.”
Jeremy Menez, the younger of the two brothers, has previously played for Roma and Monaco. He has won 24 caps for his country, scoring twice. At 28, he’s at the peak of his powers and could be the versatile forward we’re after.
A squad bolster rather than anything more drastically exciting, however.
