Liverpool v Crystal Palace – KO: 17:30 BST
Saturday’s evening game in the Premier League may not represent much in the way of importance for either side’s ambitions in the table, but, it will be the final chance for Anfield to say goodbye to one its favourite sons. To get involved, check out the Liverpool v Crystal Palace odds here.
Our hopes of qualifying for the Champions League are all but over, barring a couple of incredible results involving ourselves and Manchester United. Nevertheless, the atmosphere on Merseyside will be one of the greatest in recent memory, as Steven Gerrard leads our side out in front of the Kop for the final time.
Brendan Rodgers has no new injury concerns, with Mamadou Sakho, Daniel Sturridge, and Jon Flanagan remaining the only absentees in the side. In Sturridge’s absence, Raheem Sterling may well be the one to start the game in the striker role, with Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho completing the front three.
Meanwhile, Glen Johnson could also make his final appearance at home. His contract expires in the summer, and a new deal doesn’t appear to be forthcoming.
Palace’s main threat is likely to come from Glenn Murray, who seemed to cause Manchester United’s defence all kinds of problems in their last game. If it hadn’t been for David De Gea performing wonders, we may have gone into this game still with a realistic chance of making it into the top four.
