Excellent French international striker Alexandre Lacazette is one of the hottest properties in Europe right now, due to his wonderful Ligue 1 campaign…

And we’re one of the clubs rumoured to be interested in him, reckons the Mirror.

Lacazette has plundered 27 goals in the league, and would significantly bolster our struggling forward line. He won this season’s Ligue 1 Player of the Year award, formerly won by Eden Hazard, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Didier Drogba and Michael Essien.

“I don’t know,” the striker replied when asked if he’s be leaving the French club this summer.

“That is a question that will be asked at the end of the season.

“I am very proud, it is a boyhood dream come true to win the trophy for the best player.”

Lacazette would be a wonderful signing, to put it simply. He’s rapid, can score all types of goals, and is happy to drift wide and pick up possession rather than just stay central. In this respect, he suits our style of football perfectly, and would be a major improvement on Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert, and a seemingly permanently injured Daniel Sturridge.

We’ll surely sign another striker in the summer, and Lacazette would be a very exciting addition We’ve also been linked heavily to Stevan Jovetic (via Express) and Danny Ings (via Daily Star), but 23-year-old Lacazette would really get us hopeful ahead of 2015/16.
