The Reds face Stoke City on Sunday, and with Gerrard set to join LA Galaxy soon after, our hero is edging ever closer to his final goodbyes.

And Enrique, who will be hoping to play for the first time since January this weekend, posted the picture below on social media this afternoon, along with the caption: “From today at training. Nice picture with the king. We going to miss this guy.”

It was clear from the reaction at Anfield last weekend that the it’s not just the players who are going to miss Gerrard. The tears were in full-flow on Merseyside following the defeat to Crystal Palace and no doubt will be again this weekend.

Enrique’s appearances have been hugely limited over the last two years due to injury. However, he has played on 96 occasions in all competitions over the last four years, so will likely have felt the influence of Gerrard as much as anyone.
