The 21-year-old joined the Reds from Bayer Leverkusen in 2012, becoming one of Brendan Rodgers’ first signings as Liverpool manager. But unfortunately, he’s been plagued by injury problems ever since, with two lengthy absences restricting him to just two first-team appearances – both in the League Cup.

More encouragingly however, he returned to our Under-21 set-up shortly before the end of the season, playing three times and scoring twice. Now, the man who once scored 20 goals in just 21 games for Germany’s Under-17s, is looking to reinvent himself.

According to Turkish Football, Yesil could join Fenerbahce, with such a deal giving the player an exciting opportunity to gain first team experience, challenge for multiple titles and play European football.

They believe that negotiations are underway and that Yesil will arrive in Turkey this week to complete the deal.
