Bayern Munich pull out of the running to sign Raheem Sterling [Bild]

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich will not be following up their interest in Raheem Sterling with a bid, having met the player’s agent, reports in Germany suggest.

According to the London Evening Standard, the 20-year-old is desperate to quit Anfield in the summer, having told Brendan Rodgers that he will not signing a new contract. However, the decision is somewhat out of his hands as he has another two years left on his current deal.

That hasn’t stopped his agent Aidy Ward meeting representatives from the German side in an attempt to persuade them to sign the winger, Bild report.

But, the club have decided against making an offer for the England international.

Although his talent is undeniable, you can very much understand why Pep Guardiola and his team are not interested in him. The disruption he has caused this year has almost certainly had an impact on matters on the pitch, and meant that our season has finished under a black cloud that could remain in place until he departs.
