Analysing six Champions League finalists who Liverpool should move for this summer

Posted by

Angelo Ogbonna (Juventus)

Why it could work: A relative unknown compared to the other names on this list. He could jump at the opportunity to win more first-team opportunities at Anfield. He’ll likely play tonight due to the injury to Giorgio Chiellini… Luis Suarez must be devastated!

How he could fit: We all know about Dejan Lovren’s problems and this towering Italian, who is also capable of playing at left-back, could add some real strength in depth to our squad.

What do the papers say: The Metro believe that our scouts will be out in force tonight to keep an eye on him. In all fairness, every major European club going will probably have someone in attendance in Berlin.

Andrea Pirlo (Juventus)

Why it could work: Pirlo has never played outside of Italy and this is really his last chance to have a crack at another major European league before he retires. If he wins tonight, there won’t be anything left to achieve with Juventus.

How he could fit: We’ve added James Milner to our squad but we still look a little short in midfield. In a squad that lacks experience and proven quality at the top level this Italian veteran could be the ideal short-term addition.

What do the papers say: The Daily Express claim we have a fight on our hands if we want to get a deal done, with Pirlo also attracting interest from the MLS.
