Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, Raheem Sterling and new boy James Milner all start in a 4-3-3 formation.

Sterling and Lallana will play wide of Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney up front, while Henderson and Milner are joined by Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere in midfield. United defenders Phil Jones and Chris Smalling also start, while City keeper Joe Hart remains in goal – meaning Liverpool and Manchester have contributed eight of the eleven starters.

Chelsea’s Gary Cahill and Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand make up the numbers.

You can also watch out for a number of rumoured Liverpool targets – including Saints full-back Nathaniel Clyne and QPR striker Charlie Austin, who are both on the bench.

Former Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson could also hand England debuts to Jamie Vardy – who scored in Leicester City’s thrashing of Manchester United earlier this season, a result we all enjoyed –  and Burnley keeper Tom Heaton.
