Ibe, who broke into the first-team around Christmas time following his successful loan spell at Championship outfit, specially requested extra training sessions despite him being on his summer holidays.

“Kenny Dalglish came in this morning and worked with Jordon Ibe and myself on a little bit of finishing. Kenny literally just got a plane and came straight here,” Inglethorpe began.

“This is driven by Jordon. He’s the one who wanted to come in and do a bit more. He’s the one who wanted to work on a few things.

“It’s incredible really. By chance I was just speaking to Kenny about something else. He landed at the airport at 10am and he was in here at 10.30am with his kit on and the boots on.

“He was working with Jordon, passing some fantastic pieces of advice as you’d expect. There were four or five of the U16s as well. What a day for an U16 – working with Kenny Dalglish, Jordon Ibe, on a beautiful sunny day, doing some good work.”

It’s fantastic to see Ibe putting in so much effort when he could be off on his holidays…

The 19-year-old has yet to score for Liverpool, so his finishing is something that definitely needs bolstering.

Next term, he’ll be a crucial part of the first-team, as he’s capable of playing anywhere in the front-three. Attacking midfielders these days need to contribute consistently to the goals and assists tallies, so let’s hope this extra work pays off!

We’ve got incredibly high hopes for Ibe, and this kind of news is superb to hear.
