We can’t quite believe what we’re reading today, in all honesty.
Raheem Sterling is becoming the ultimate parody of a greedy, arrogant footballer.
News broke this morning that Raheem Sterling had told Liverpool he wouldn’t be travelling on the pre-season tour, in order to force through his mooted £50m move to Manchester City.
Now, Sky Sports are outlining details of the conversation the pair had at Melwood yesterday. Brendan Rodgers reiterated to the 20-year-old that Liverpool want to keep him for the foreseeable future, and are willing to meet his lofty financial demands – but shockingly – Sterling rejected the olive branch – claiming that he didn’t want to play for Rodgers anymore because he doesn’t like him.
Rodgers is the man who nurtured Sterling into the England international he is today, and we find this latest news nothing short of outrageous and disrespectful.
How dare he? Get this footballer out of our club for top dollar and reinvest it wisely. His Liverpool future is simply untenable.
