The Liverpool squad looked in high spirits this morning as they trained at Melwood ahead of our fifth pre-season friendly – which takes place in Helsinki on Saturday evening.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have been in fine form thus far – winning three and drawing one of our four games in the Far East, which included back-to-back victories in Australia. Our final two games, against HJK and Swindon Town, will now take us nicely up to the start of the new Premier League season – which kicks off on August 9th.
Among those training this morning were new signings Roberto Firmino – now back from his extended holiday – and Christian Benteke. Both players could potentially make their first-team debuts in Finland this weekend.
Andre Wisdom also trained, despite strong rumours in the Liverpool Echo linking him with a loan move to Norwich City, while Brazilian midfielder and rumoured transfer target Allan was also pictured.
The 18-year-old, who has been linked with a £500,000 move from Internacional, looks to be closing in on a switch and was spotted alongside compatriots Firmino and Philippe Coutinho.
