Adama Traore bargain fee named by Catalan newspaper Sport

It’s not like Liverpool need any more players vying for attacking midfield spots, but nonetheless, it seems we may be on the verge of acquiring another…

Barcelona will sell starlet Adama Traore for €10m, which is around £7m, despite the wonderkid having a €15m release clause.

That’s according to Catalan newspaper Sport, referenced here in Sport Witness, who confirm that Liverpool have sent a negotiator to Barcelona to discuss terms on the potential deal.

The £7m price is fixed, and provided we agree to stump it up, the teenage prodigy will be ours – ready to compete with Jordon Ibe, Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino, Coutinho and Lazar Markovic for spots in attacking midfield.

Barcelona would prefer a buy-back option is inserted into the contract, but it’s not thought to be a deal breaker claim Sport.

Traore is a natural wide-man, has pace to burn, and can beat his fullback. In this respect, he’s similar to Ibe – so Rodgers could be trying to bolster the speedy options at his disposal following the departure of Raheem Sterling, as Lallana and Firmino are unlikely to hug the touchline – while Markovic seems out of favour.
