(Video) Daniel Sturridge scores brilliant training goal as he closes in on return

Daniel Sturridge has taken another encouraging step towards his Liverpool return date – pencilled in for the match against Manchester United on September 12th (via Daily Express).

The striker, although still training alone to protect his surgically repaired hip, was certainly looking more like his former self in the video clip below – which he uploaded to his official YouTube channel this weekend.

According to the original Express report, which was published earlier this month, Sturridge was due to return to training with the rest of the first-team in two weeks – which would be this coming Wednesday.

Encouragingly, that could mean that this Monday’s game against Bournemouth is our last match that Sturridge won’t be involved in at all, with the 25-year-old hopefully set to participate in the build-up to the Arsenal clash seven days later.

Sturridge started just seven Premier League games last season due to a succession of problems but, if this clip looks anything to go by, he looks raring to go as he prepares to make his long-awaited comeback.
