Man United vs Liverpool lineups confirmed: Ings full debut, & Lovren keeps his place

The teams have been announced for our trip to Old Trafford, and it looks as though Brendan Rodgers is certainly gunning for all three points against Manchester United.

The rivalry between us and United is as lively as ever, and this fixture could be a hugely entertaining one.

Danny Ings gets his first start in the Premier League, and will be playing alongside Christian Benteke. It looks as though we’ll be playing a narrow diamond with two up front, Roberto Firmino slotting into the No.10 spot – with Philippe Coutinho absent through suspension.

The rest of the team is as you’d expect, although most will not be pleased to see Dejan Lovren still int he side. There have been calls for Mamadou Sakho to replace him, but Rodgers is sticking with the former Southampton man for the moment.

This team looks surprisingly well balanced throughout, with a defensively minded midfield backing up a triple pronged attack.

The only worry could be our lack of width, which will need to be provided by Joe Gomez and Nathaniel Clyne. Regardless, we have more than enough about us to get something out of this game against Louis van Gaal’s side.
