Liverpool are set to play a 3-4-2-1 tonight, with this the expected starting XI: Mignolet; Gomez, Toure, Sakho; Ibe, Can, Rossiter, Moreno; Coutinho, Lallana, Origi
Nearly everything Brendan Rodgers does nowadays sends Liverpool Twitter into a rage, but most of the reaction was intrigued rather than outright disregard, thankfully.
To be fair, it suits the players available – and many angry supporters have clearly forgotten that it worked on many occasions last season during our mid-term hot patch.
Shouldn’t we embrace it for tonight at least, Reds?

Had no idea #LFC are playing a 3-4-2-1 tonight. Could be interesting.

3-4-2-1 tonight? Jesus Christ — Jamie Langan (@jamielangan3) September 17, 2015
I’d much rather 3-4-2-1 than a hopeless and pointless 4-3-3 without wingers

3-4-2-1 again tomorrow yay… — Brandon (@LallanasLegacy) September 16, 2015
The 3-4-2-1 actually benefits much of the projected starting XI. Perfect for Sakho, Gomez, Moreno, Coutinho, Lallana.

#LFC going with a 3-4-2-1 would be suitable for both scenarios. A reactive and heavy possession-based 4-1-2-3/4-3-2-1 could be useful too.
