Jurgen Klopp bursts out laughing as Bild journalists asks him about Liverpool – ‘Not no, not yes!’

Posted by

According to virtually every report you’ll read from football’s most respected outlets, Jurgen Klopp is going to be Liverpool’s next manager.

BBC Sport reckon it’ll be done by Friday while Chris Bascombe of the Telegraph goes as far as naming the length of the year, reckoning the German will sign a three year contract.

But Klopp is keeping his cards close to his chest, and has gone as far as to suggest it might not happen, although the fact he burst out laughing after his answer suggests he’s hopefully just being coy.

“There’s nothing to say. Neither a definite yes nor a definite no. I’m going home now!” Klopp said, before laughing and heading for his car, Bild claim, with the German publication tracking him down today. Klopp was outside a meeting of the Federal German Football Coaches, not in England – as has been spuriously claimed via unreliable Twitter sources.

It’s the only thing Klopp’s said to the media since the news broke that he’s set to take charge, but negotiations with FSG and the manager’s representatives are at an advanced stage (via Goal), and with many bookmakers have suspending betting on Liverpool’s next manager, it should just be a matter of time.

It’s nice to see Klopp is keeping us on tenterhooks in the meantime!
