You can only laugh at misses like these when Liverpool win the match, or they’re by our opposition, so thankfully we can chuckle at Christian Benteke’s misfortune this afternoon.
Somehow, inexplicably, the Belgian, who did fire the game’s winner it’s important to note, fluffed this chance when one-on-one with only a Leicester defender in front of him.

Kasper Schmeichel was way out of his goal after going up for a Leicester corner in injury time, and most worryingly, the Tigers actually had another chance to level after this Benteke miss.
Why didn’t he just shoot when he could’ve rolled the ball into the goal?!
Crucially of course, he DID score the goal that mattered, and that’s the one we should be talking about this Boxing Day!
(Lucas’s miss after Benteke’s is almost as bad, by the way!)
