(Video) Goal: Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool – Benteke goal puts Reds ahead

Posted by

We’ve taken the lead against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League this evening.

After a first half in which we had multiple chances but couldn’t take any of them, it only took us 30 seconds of the second period to get our noses ahead.

Christian Benteke was the scorer, as some neat work in the middle of the park eventually allowed Adam Lallana to slip the ball in behind the Sunderland defence for the Belgian to pounce.

After Benteke went six games without a goal questions were starting to be raised about his workrate, forcing Klopp to have a private chat about what was expected of him.

Since then he’s bagged two in two games, with tonight’s goal coming after he scored the winner against Leicester last weekend.
