Klopp rules out move for £20m-rated keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen

According to the Liverpool Echo, Klopp has directly ruled out a move for Barcelona keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Klopp, who has seen his side constantly linked with the 23-year-old German, was directly asked about his interest in the player on Monday’s press conference – but he rebuked any suggestion of interest.

When asked if a bid had been made, he simply replied “No”.

“We have some problems at this moment but thank God not around the goalkeeper position so everything is okay” he added. “It’s how I said plenty of time on the goalkeeper position and the situation is more than okay, we are satisfied. I know both goalkeepers”.

“Simon Mignolet is a really, really, really good goalkeeper. Number two in Belgium – or number one we will see – but maybe number two at the European Championships. It’s a big football country in this moment so he’s had a good education in all parts of life, especially goalkeeping”.

When pressed on whether Mignolet or Bodgan would start tomorrow night he was evasive.

Bogdan has currently started every League Cup match, but with Klopp recently  insisting that he was “in it to win it” and with Bogdan’s error-strewn performance against Watford still fresh in the memory, he might be tempted to go for the “safer” option.
