Brad Smith: “It was an honour to score my first goal for Liverpool”

Brad Smith has been speaking to LFC TV in the aftermath of our 2-2 draw against Exeter City on Friday night.

Smith got our second of the match, drawing us level with just over 15 minutes remaining after Bodgan’s howler allowed the hosts to take the lead on the stroke of half time.

Smith said it was an honour to score his first goal for the club, and he was already looking forward to the replay at Anfield.

Klopp refused to blame the youngsters for the result after the game, saying: “They tried what they could tonight. We picked them to help us in this moment. They did. We drew 2-2.”

“Their first goal was their first attack and it wasn’t too easy for our young boys. The second goal was something of a miracle. We deserved a replay. We didn’t play as well as we can, but it was good enough for a draw”.

The goal marks an incredible turnaround in fortunes for Smith — he briefly left the club last summer but was swiftly brought back by Rodgers as a back-up for Moreno, with the Northern Irishman no longer trusting Jose Enrique.
