Liverpool drew 3-3 with Arsenal in a thrilling Premier League game at Anfield on Wednesday night, but the biggest story of the match wasn’t Firmino’s stunning curler, Joe Allen’s late equaliser, or another distinctly average performance by Belgian stopper Simon Mignolet – rather, it was this hilariously ill-timed tweet by Arsenal fan @DareToWilsh:
You’re chasing a game so you bring on Joe Allen, who hasn’t go a Premier League goal, for Emre Can. Jurgen Klopp.

And he wasn’t the only Arsenal fan who was counting his chickens too soon:
Liverpool need a goal and they’re bringing on Joe Allen hahahaha — Alex (@Alex_is_Sanchez) January 13, 2016
To be fair to the guys, there were probably a lot of Liverpool fans thinking the same thing in the 82nd minute when Allen was introduced. While Emre Can isn’t exactly a goal machine, Joe Allen had scored a grand total of two Premier League goals in three seasons for us before tonight.
Sadly, our ongoing injury crisis mean’t Klopp didn’t really have any other options available – our unused subs were Lucas, Brad Smith, Danny Ward (GK), and Joao Carlos.
Still, let this be a lesson to all of us that football is a funny old game, and we should never presume the seemingly impossible to be actually impossible!
