Allan Rodrigues de Souza finalises Belgium loan move

Posted by

Less than two weeks after Jurgen Klopp spoke about the need to reconsider which players were sent out on loan (via TalkSport), we’ve sent Allan Rodrigues de Souza out on loan to Belgian side Sint-Truidense until the end of the season (via Echo).

The possible move first came to light last week, but the paperwork has now been completed.

We picked the 19-year-old up from Brazilian side Internacional last summer. He was immediately sent out on loan to Finnish side SJK where he played a major role in helping them win the Veikkausliiga title.

He returned to Liverpool in October and played regularly for the U21s, but it has now been decided that he development would be best served in Belgium.

Sint-Truidense are currently tenth in the Belgian Pro League with 26 points from 22 games. They trail leaders Ghent by 20 points, but are just five points behind Genk in their bid to qualify for the post-season ‘Championship Round’.

Apparently, we fully intend to bring the player back to Anfield in the summer and there is no chance he will be sold. It is hoped he will be ready to be part of the first team squad by August.

Is this a good move by Klopp or do you think he deserves to be part of the first team squad already, especially with our injury problems?
