Supporters must give Henderson a break
Liverpool’s 0-0 draw in Augsburg won’t live long in the memory as Liverpool’s inconsistent form continues, after the destruction of Aston Villa last weekend, most supporters were hoping the team could build on that impressive performance but once again they were left disappointed by witnessing a lacklustre performance in Germany.
The inconsistent performances and form is understandable with Klopp still trying to get his style of play across to a team full of players that probably won’t be playing for Liverpool next season, but it is very disappointing to see the criticism aimed at club captain Jordan Henderson.
Henderson is an important player for Liverpool and his recent injury hasn’t helped him as he struggles to find the form that has made him captain of Liverpool.
It is not a good idea to look at twitter during a Liverpool game because the criticism aimed at the players for the slightest mistake is unbelievable, and Henderson has been on the receiving end in recent games as much as anybody.
It is true that Henderson is not playing as well as we’ve seen in the past but supporters need to give him a break regarding the criticism aimed at him because he is obviously struggling for fitness and it clearly is taking the edge off his game.
We need to appreciate that Henderson is so committed to the club and that he is playing despite not being 100% fit.
Many people are unfairly comparing Henderson to the now departed Steven Gerrard and that is an unfair comparison because there is only one Steven Gerrard, but Henderson has his qualities and needs to be shown respect and support not criticised for giving 100%.
