It’s something all Liverpool fans have always dreamed of, and it’s finally become a reality…
That’s right ladies and gentlemen, we now have our very own official coconut water provider. Happy days.
According to soccerex.com, we’ve signed a three-year deal with the Thai coconut water brand, Chaokoh. It marks the first time that we’ve entered into a sponsorship agreement with a company from the South East Asian country.
It is a “global” deal, meaning that we will be promoting their product across all our digital and social media channels and in all languages.
Soccerex report that the drinks are currently sold in more than 40 countries worldwide, including the UK, the US, China, Japan and Australia.
The finances behind the deal have not yet been revealed, but it certainly marks another big coup for the commercial side of the club.
We know it’s not considered important or relevant to the average “fan on the street”, but the reality is that the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd left us for dead in the commercial stakes between the mid-1990s and the arrival of FSG. Rick Parry and Hicks and Gillett consistently failed to maximise the earning potential that our huge global fanbase allows.
This announcement is another welcome step forward in our bid to catch up.
