Klopp trolls Manchester with brilliant TV joke

Jurgen Klopp stoked the fires ahead of Sunday’s League Cup final, by teasing those in Manchester.

Liverpool take on City on February 28th, hoping to secure the first piece of silverware under the German – just five months after he took charge.

Jurgen Klopp reacts to Man United draw: “I wanted them”

Asked today during his pre-match press-conference what tactics he’ll be using, Klopp replied:

“I won’t talk about tactics here. Even in Manchester they have televisions!” (via Tony Barrett of the Times’ Twitter feed).

As if the manager was going to reveal his plan to beat City, anyway…

Not that journalists really need to ask the question, considering Liverpool beat City 4-1 earlier in the season. Klopp will surely use a similar game-plan and hope his go-to players put in the same kind of defining performance.

That day, Coutinho, Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino tore the Sky Blues to shreds at the Etihad, thanks to a dynamic, counter-attacking performance.

At Wembley, Daniel Sturridge will replace Lallana in the prospective front-three, and Klopp will need his men to be on better shooting form than they were versus Augsburg last night. Liverpool peppered the Germans, but couldn’t find the back of the net other than a James Milner penalty.

If we play at a high tempo and take our chances, the League Cup is ours for the taking.
