Robbie Fowler tells fans to trust “special” Klopp

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler, who scored 183 goals in two spells at the club, has told Liverpool fans to trust Klopp.

“Losing on penalties after such a gallant performance was a rough way to go down in a final that would have been a huge boost for the club had they won,” said the 40-year-old in his column with The New Day (cited on official Liverpool website).

“This isn’t Klopp’s team as such but he’s brought his style and a winning attitude that is infectious. Even getting to Wembley was an achievement in itself.

“I genuinely believe the German is building something special. He’s a proven winner, and impresses me in every department. You hang on his every word. His record screams success. He is the right man for the job.”

He admits, however, that we still have serious issues to overcome – especially in the attacking department.

“Goals are a problem, but exciting times are ahead with the often magical Philippe Coutinho and injury-ravaged Daniel Sturridge stringing some games together,” he said.

We don’t think there are any fans out there who would disagree with Robbie. We just hope Klopp gets the backing he needs this summer to enable him to put his own stamp on the club.

We clearly need a new goalie, centre-back, left-back, defensive midfielder, winger, and striker – at the very least.

Or perhaps we could just ask Fowler to dust off his boots!
