If there’s one thing that cannot be accused of Mario Balotelli, it’s that he lacks coolness in front of goal.
The Italian doesn’t work, often doesn’t try, and is more hassle than he’s worth, but very occasionally he shows why he was once rated as the world’s most talented young striker.
During AC Milan’s 5-0 Copa Italia hammering of Alessandria, the 25-year-old ran through on goal before cleverly waiting until the keeper began to drop before side-footing past him.
In fact, it was quite telling considering how badly Christian Benteke has finished his one-on-one opportunities this season for Liverpool.
Still, we’re not saying Balotelli has an Anfield future. Hopefully some more goals this term will maximise his summer sell-on value.
