Skrtel and Ibe both involved in Liverpool U21s vs Man Utd U21s

Our U21 side drew 1-1 with Manchester United’s U21 side in a hard-fought encounter at Prenton Park on Friday night (via official site).

Martin Skrtel played an hour as he continues to get back to match fitness after his injury, while Jordon Ibe played 70 minutes. Recently recalled goalkeeper Danny Ward was named as captain.

After a dull first half, the breakthrough eventually came in the 50th minute. Jerome Sinclair was the scored, chipping home after a visionary pass from the ever-improving Ryan Kent.

Ibe should’ve made it 2-0 moments later, but he couldn’t quite get on the end of Ojo’s inviting cross.

United found their equaliser 15 minutes from time, as their captain James Weir tapped in after some poor defending.

It was strong United side that featured plenty of Premier League experience; Adnan Januzaj, Antonio Valencia, and Paddy McNair were all involved.
