Divock Origi injured on international duty, withdraws from Belgium squad

The official Twitter account of the Belgium international side has confirmed that Divock Origi has been sent away from international duty with an injury.

The Echo report that our 20-year-old fireball has picked up a muscle problem in his thigh, worrying considering the crunch fixtures coming up after the international break against Spurs, Borussia Dortmund twice and Stoke.

There is no news yet as to the extent of the injury or how long he’ll potentially be out for.

The same report claims Christian Benteke is also struggling with a knee problem, and with Roberto Firmino also out with a hamstring issue – Daniel Sturridge is ironically the only fit forward at the club!

Danny Ings is still some way away from a return, of course.

Sturridge is away with England, and now Jurgen Klopp and everyone associated with Liverpool will be crossing everything that he doesn’t pick up another niggling problem.

Origi’s emerged as Liverpool’s second choice striker under Klopp, who clearly appreciates his direct running and work-rate in and out of possession.

This news is disappointing, and we really hope it’s not serious.
