German international is waiting for a call from Klopp

German international left-back Jonas Hector has said that a call from Jurgen Klopp could convince him to swap Koln for Anfield.

The 25-year-old is currently first choice for the German national team, and will represent his country at this summer’s Euros. He has won ten caps in his career so far.

In a recent interview with Eurosport (cited via Echo), he said the following:

“You always have to consider whether you are ready to take the next step. But at the moment I am not thinking about it.

“I think what we have to do at FC Koln is enough. I also have with the national team a big tournament ahead of us.”

However, he was then asked if a call from our German boss would convince him to move.

“Then I would start to think about it” was his response.

There is no smoke without fire, as they say. The Moreno departure rumours won’t go away – his agent linked him with a move to Real Madrid earlier in the season (via SkySports), while several fans are unhappy with his perceived defensive weaknesses.

Hector would be a great replacement – he is strong going forward but shows typical German resoluteness when defending.
