Jurgen Klopp has been speaking about his experiences so far during his short time as our manager. He says he is loving everything about life on Merseyside, with one notable exception – the weather.
“It feels good,” he said. “The surroundings are fantastic. To live right at the seaside has advantages, but also disadvantages – looking at the weather!” (via official site).
“You can lead a fantastic life here. People are used to my face right now where I live, and you wouldn’t believe but, as a Premier League manager, life is pretty normal in England.”
(Still – at least his comments prove that he’s getting fully integrated with the British national pass-time!)
He also said he felt that his command of the English language had improved, though he still sometimes struggled.
“I still can’t express myself like I want to do,” he remarked. “But it’s getting better, particularly the understanding part.
“That’s incredibly helpful in all the talks I have to hold. I feel completely content in my work here.”
It’s not clear whether he penchant for swearing in press conferences is due to the language barrier or deliberately done in jest. We like to think it’s the latter!
