Liverpool 2015-16 awards: 10 Goal of Season nominees announced – Coutinho has four of them

Liverpool have released voting information for the club’s official 2016 Players’ Awards.

And magical playmaker Philippe Coutinho is unsurprisingly at the forefront as he is nominated four times in the Goal of the Season category, and twice for Performance of the Season.

The Brazilian has been shortlisted for his last-gasp 30-yard winner in August’s victory over Stoke City, and his magnificent solo effort against Manchester United in the Europa League.

Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino also have a couple of nominations apiece, while Christian Benteke is in contention for his fabulous overhead against United in the Premier League.

Defender Martin Skrtel completes the 10-goal shortlist for his volley in the memorable 4-1 thrashing of Manchester City. The full list of nominees for Goal of the Season can be seen below.

GOAL I – Philippe Coutinho v West Ham United (9 February 2016)

GOAL J – Philippe Coutinho v Manchester United (17 March 2016)

The ceremony is being held on May 12 at Liverpool’s Exhibition Centre, and will celebrate the achievements of players from the the first team, ladies team and academy.
