In the first-half of today’s fixture against Bournemouth, Liverpool’s deadly attacking duo Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge were involved in the opening two goals of the game.
Sturridge, starting ahead of young Belgian Divock Origi, attempted an audacious back-heel finish first up, which Artur Boruc only just kept out, but thankfully Roberto Firmino was there to gobble up the rebound from close-range.
The goal was the first since Firmino’s return from injury, and hopefully it will do his confidence a world of good after a poor start to today’s clash with the Cherries.
At his best, he’s one of the first names on the team-sheet.
Not long after, Sturridge nodded in a second following Jordon Ibe’s cross, to give Liverpool a 2-0 first-half lead.
