Since the League Cup Final, Simon Mignolet has been pretty good. So much so, we genuinely were starting to believe he’d turned a corner and could play a part as our no.1 next season.
But today against Newcastle a miserable second-half showing meant his critics came out in full force, perhaps fairly so.
The Belgian came for a cross and missed it, which enabled Cisse to nod in to an open net, and then failed to claw out a Colback effort.
All of a sudden the game was 2-2, but we were completely dominating, and Newcastle’s opener was their first effort on target.
Today, Mignolet must take the blame.
Whats on your glove MIGNOLET? Slime? Oil?

Simon Mignolet is just bad. Why we gave this guy an extension I will never know. @MenInBlazers

Mignolet is actually the sole reason we are not winning this game. You couldn’t ask for a worse goalkeeper.

So apparently mignolet is costing us points again #Liability

The Mignolet mistake leads to all of this. This shouldn’t even be happening.

Mignolet’s earlier howler lead to this nervy, shaky defending. #LFC

Good to see Mignolet is back to his old ways before a European semi final
