Liverpool fans bombard Twitter, perplexed by Klopp’s decisions

Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to express their annoyance at our 1-0 loss to Villarreal in the Europa League semi-final.

All seemed to be going swimmingly until the 92nd minute, when Adrian Lopez tapped in Denis Suarez’s low cross to give the Spaniards what could prove to be a decisive advantage.

It’s clear that Klopp tried to “do a Rafa” and play for a 0-0, but was sunk by our defence switching off in the final moments. Other than that, we think his tactics were largely spot-on for an away leg in a European semi-final.

The only decision we think he got wrong was not introducing Sturridge when Coutinho was forced off at half-time. It was clear their defence was open to being exploited, and a traditional striker could have caused mayhem. Even the introduction of Benteke for the last couple of minutes caused them some issues.
