Coutinho and Roberto Firmino have been included in Dunga’s preliminary Copa America squad for this summer.
Our Samba duo have arguably been Liverpool’s two best players this season, and have been rewarded for their club performances – having been left out at various points during the past year.
Dunga’s squad includes many names who will not be familiar to an English audience, such as the keepers, Fagner, Wallace and Lima.
Interestingly, our January target Alex Teixeira also features – the attacker we courted openly only to be pipped to the post by billionaire Chinese outfit Jiangsu Suning. It seems his decision to move to the Far East from Ukraine has actually boosted his international chances, as he wasn’t getting a look in while at Shakhtar.
The Copa America is very, very gruelling, so we wouldn’t actually be too disappointed if one or both of our Brazilians were cut from Dunga’s final squad, in order to keep them fresh for next season.
