Jurgen Klopp has refused to be drawn on the ongoing debate around Joe Allen’s future at the club.

The Welshman, who is been in fine form in 2016, will enter the final year of his current deal this summer. According to the Echo, there have been no talks over a new deal at the present time.

“I will talk about Joe’s future, 100 per cent, but not in a press conference at Swansea,” Klopp said. “Everything is fine. He is in good shape and everything is fine.”

Allen did not feature in our 3-1 loss to Swansea at the weekend, and is widely expected to start on Thursday night in our season-defining Europa League semi-final second leg against Villarreal at Anfield.

However, with news of Emre Can’s return to training, it is not clear who he would partner – Lucas, Milner, and the German are all options.

What would you do about Joe’s future? Sell him or give him a new deal? Let us know what you think and why in the comments.
