We’ve broken Man Utd fans’ hearts, Dortmund fans’ hearts, Villarreal fans’ hearts – and now we’ve broken the internet (again).
We’d already broken Twitter records after our dramatic late win against Dortmund in the last round (via Echo) – and although the nature of that win means we hadn’t quite reached the same numbers – we were still the number one trending topic in several countries around the world. Here is the best of the Twitter reaction from a wonderful night of football:
Emre Can, to come back from injury and give a performance like that. What a warrior, Rolls Royce of a footballer too. Love him. 🇩🇪🔴

Very reminiscent of Rafa’s first year this. Bit shite in the league but very good in the cups.

Winning the Europa & qualifying for the CL would be a fairytale ending in Klopp’s first season. You sense the first of many. #LFC.

If Klopp told me to shoot everyone I know, I’d ask him what sort of gun I’d be using and how many magazines he’d allow me to have.

Did the Villarreal team celebrate at the end of this one?

That was remarkably unlike us, so straightforward. Did the job we had to do with minimal fuss. Basel here we come! #LFC

3-0, 12 against 10, made it look like men against boys. What a game what a team what a run and we’re in the final!

Klopp has turned Emre Can into one of the most important players in this team. What a difference he made.
