Alberto Moreno. We don’t want to have to criticise you, you seem like a nice guy and it’s obvious that you care about the club.

It’s just – well, you know – you’re so damn poor defensively.

If the fan reaction on Twitter was not enough, now two former Reds – Michael Owen and Steve McManaman – have had their say on the Spaniard’s performance over on BT Sports’ post-match analysis (cited via Echo).

Owen was the first to talk. “It’s impossible to explain what Moreno was doing (for the first goal) it’s a shocking header,” he said.

“You head it high and the way you’re facing and it’s a bad header to start with, then he comes flying in when the situation’s pretty under control

“You can pick holes as well in the central area as well, but it starts with Moreno, the second mistake again is Moreno.”

Then Macca has his say:

“It’s actually harder to head the ball that way,” he joked. “He picked out Mariano with the most perfect header.

“You can’t blame the referee you can only blame yourselves.

“Forget the ref and the linesman putting his flag up, it was a legitimate goal and Liverpool have to lick their wounds and come back stronger.”
