Three Reds join Belgium squad – Liverpool become second most-represented club at EUROs

Our Belgian trio of Simon Mignolet, Christian Benteke, and Divock Origi have been called up by their country for the upcoming European Championships in France.

The Belgian team’s Twitter account confirmed the news earlier today.

The news means that with 12 players on the plane to Paris this summer, we have become Europe’s second most-represented club at the tournament, trailing only Juventus.

It’s great for the players involved, but will be a nightmare for Klopp. Our new German boss will be desperate to get his players together for as long as possible this summer, thus giving them a full pre-season to work together.

Of course, it also raised the worrying prospect of some of the lads picking up serious injuries. Henderson, Sturridge, Origi, Can, Benteke have all been the victims of lengthy layoffs recently, and we’ll have to hope that rushing them back for the tournament has no ill-effects.

Here’s the list of our players going in full

James Milner
Adam Lallana
Nathaniel Clyne
Jordan Henderson
Daniel Sturridge
Danny Ward
Joe Allen
Martin Skrtel
Emre Can
Simon Mignolet
Divock Origi
Christian Benteke
