Leicester City have rejected our bid for promising left-back Ben Chilwell.

According to the ever-reliable Chris Bascombe in the Daily Telegraph, we offered around £7 million which the reigning champions rejected.

Chilwell only has one year remaining on his deal, but the Foxes are reportedly holding out for around £10 million.

The 19-year-old is a long-term target of Klopp. With Jose Enrique leaving the club, and with question marks remaining over the abilities of current first choice Alberto Moreno, the England youth international has been earmarked as a star in the making.

Bascombe claims Leicester will not dip below £10 million. Their new Thai owners are determined not to be a selling club and they’ve offered the youngster a new deal.

The club have also offered him a new deal, and are hopeful that a wage bump and Champions League football will convince him to put pen to paper.
