Empoli club president Fabrizio Corsi has urged Piotr Zielinski to snub a move to Merseyside and instead accept a transfer to Serie A side Napoli.

Corsi, who confirmed Klopp has been talking to the Polish international since January, thinks the player should join boss Maurizio Sarri in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius.

“I would advise Zielinski to join Maurizio Sarri at Napoli,” he said.

“That’s nothing against Klopp, who has been talking to the player since January.

“Therefore Liverpool moved forward, including in the head of the lad, who now has it in his mind to be in the Premier League.” (via Express).

Of course, Corsi’s words will ultimately mean little. Zielinski has only been on loan at Florence-based Empoli this season. The players registration remains with Udinese, who have not spoken publically about where they would prefer the player to play.

Liverpool hope to complete the deal in the coming days.
