It looks like former Liverpool defender Steven Caulker will move to Sunderland this summer.

It’s the second transfer rumour of the day that links us and Allardyce’s club after it was earlier revealed that Big Sam was keen on former Klopp favourite Nevan Subotic.

Caulker was brought in by Klopp back in January as emergency defensive cover. At the time, an injury crisis was engulfing the back four; we had Mamadou Sakho, Dejan Lovren, Martin Skrtel, Joe Gomez, John Flanagan, and Kolo Toure stuck in the treatment room.

In the end, he only played three games in the league, totally a mere five minutes of on-pitch time. They were memorable minutes, however, as he twice came on up front to try and cause chaos. In both games – against Arsenal and Norwich – we scored crucial last minute goals.

According to the Chronicle, Crystal Palace and West Brom are also interested in his signature.
